About B.A.R.C - Akron Dog Park

BARC (Better Akron Recreation for Canines) is a 501 c3 non-profit organization, staffed entirely by volunteers.  BARC operates and maintains the Akron Dog Park exclusively through charitable donations from visitors, the public and fundraising events.

The Akron Dog Park was created as a safe space where owners could bring their dogs to exercise and socialize. BARC opened the dog park in 2004 with land and initial seed money provided by the City of Akron.

The aim of BARC is to act as a resource for dog owners and provide not only a safe and welcoming place to socialize, but also an educational experience.
